The Lahore High Court, Lahore has officially announced an exciting career opportunity through Advertisement No. 01/2025/AD&SJ/(R&E). Applications are invited from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for appointment to vacant temporary posts of Additional District & Sessions Judges (BS-20), with all associated benefits.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must hold a Law degree from a recognized university or be a member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.

  • Should be a practicing advocate eligible to appear before the High Court with at least 10 years of legal practice. This period will be calculated up to the closing date of applications (18 July 2025).

  • Must meet the eligibility criteria under the Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994, and the Punjab Civil Judges and Bar Rules, 2023.

  • Age should be between 35 and 45 years as of 18 July 2025.

Quota Reservations:

  • 3% for differently-abled persons (per Punjab Disabled Persons Ordinance, 1981).

  • 5% for minorities (as per Punjab Government Notification dated 27 March 2010).

Examination and Conditions:

  • The written examination will be based on various law and other subjects, according to the Lahore High Court’s press release dated 22 April 2025.

  • Candidates must achieve a minimum of 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate overall to qualify for the psychological and aptitude test, followed by a viva voce.

  • Application must be submitted online through the official website. The deadline for submission is 18 July 2025 at 11:59 PM.

  • A non-refundable application fee of PKR 6,000 must be paid through MCB Bank’s online channels or at any MCB branch using the designated account.

Important Notes:

  • Incomplete applications or those lacking necessary documentation will be rejected.

  • Candidates already in government service must apply with the proper channel and provide a departmental permission certificate.

  • No TA/DA will be admissible for examination or interview.
